Creating great photos requires knowledge of your camera, light and how to arrange things in the frame. You need to know the rules for great photos and when to break these rules to create something unique.
But finding all this knowledge, bringing it together at the right time and getting your camera to record it all as intended can be a daunting and frustrating process.
With me as your guide, the Photographer Unleashed! course from the Nick Church Creative Academy will change all of that and you will leave seeing, operating and shooting like a photographer. Overview
Most photography courses will aim to give you all the information in a tidal-wave with the hope some of it sticks, and have large groups of attendees which makes it impractical to provide a good amount of one-to-one coaching.
The Nick Church Creative Academy approach is different. With a combination of mentoring, easy-to-understand technical information and camera tuition, we build up the knowledge and skills at a pace drive by you.
By keeping us focused on the areas that are most important to get your photography improving you will save months of time, and avoid you drowning in lots of technical information that are not required.
Each new area is backed up with a short practical sessions so you leave with a built-in intuitive understanding.
Nick Church Photography Approach
We will cover EVERYTHING you will need to start creating the photos you only dreamed of. Including:
Understanding your camera and lenses, and getting things set up correctly
The fundamental building blocks of photography: Shutter speed, Aperture and Depth of Field…. and how they are connected
Camera modes and how to use them for creating better images
Manual Mode and why it’s THE best way to capture every possible scenario
Composition - knowing the rules and when to break them for much stronger shots
Focussing, to avoid all the frustrations of blurry shots
Turning snapshots into art; finding light, capturing moments and telling a story with your photography
For 1:1 formats: Photowalk: Let’s get out and about with our cameras. I will show you to ‘see’ things in a new way, using all the things you have learned with me always available for feedback and guidance
For online course format: Exercises, quizzes and assignments. We will review these together and you’ll get improvement through valuable critique and feedback
Finally we will edit a few of your images from the day and you’ll be buzzing with pride
Course Content
Aimed at anyone that wants to enter the world of photography and needs a bit of expert guidance.
Perhaps you have a new camera, or maybe you have been using your camera on ‘Auto’ and want to explore its full capabilities.
Maybe you have a newfound passion for photography, or are coming back to it after a long-time, let’s give that passion some direction.
Or maybe you’re on a journey to be a professional photographer? If so, you will want the confidence that comes from having these cornerstones of photography to be absolutely and intuitively understood before you start.
Who is it for?
Ideally a DSLR or Mirrorless camera. But if you do not have one you can still get huge benefit from this course with your iPhone or compact camera, and you will get advice on what sort of camera you should consider when the passion for photography takes over.
The only other thing you need is a passion for creating great photography and we will get you there together.
