My Adobe Photoshop Workshops are proving really popular with portrait and wedding photographers but I am also working with a number of landscape photographers too.

One of those is Chen Lin whose work is featured in this post.

Chen was keen to learn Photoshop as she knew her images were strong, but were missing that ‘extra something’ that she was seeing in other photographers’ work.

She had followed a familiar route of installing Photoshop and realising that the sheer volume of functionality was impossible to navigate and without the knowledge Photoshop techniques using layers and masks then you cannot unleash most that functionality anyway!

Chen is passionate about her photography, and her travels have collected a great selection for us to work on together. on the Photoshop Essentials course

Photoshop workshop format

Using screen-share and video on Zoom is the perfect training environment; it allows you to view what I’m doing, and follow along at your end as we work on various techniques. The Photoshop Essentials and Photoshop Master courses are one day each, but by running over Zoom it means we can split this into 2 x 4 hour chunks, 4 x 2 hour chunks, or any other way that fits best with you. Plus, it means that classes can continue all through pandemic restrictions!

The one-to-one format means that we can focus on your images which is a much more engaging and rewarding approach. This also means I can adapt the session to your preferred genre.

When restrictions are lifted, and studio-sessions can resume, that will be an options too.

Before and After

I know a few before and afters are always popular, so here are three of Chen’s images both before and after we worked on them. These images feature techniques such as perspective control, content aware fills, adjustment layers, masks, dodge and burn brush technique, composite images and complex tonal fixes.

Photoshop Essentials and Photoshop Master

Photoshop Essentials is ideal for people new to Adobe Photoshop who need a bit of time early on to navigate the complex interface and understand the core principles before we move on dive into masks, layers and all the techniques needed to create your masterpieces.

Photoshop Master follows on from this to provide deeper dive into professional level functionality and techniques, from perfect portraiture through to composite image art.
